What You’ll Do
As a Diesel Technician C, you’ll support preventive maintenance and assist with basic repairs to keep our fleet operating safely and reliably:
- Assist drivers with daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Perform safety lane checks and preventive maintenance services
- Complete lubrication tasks and service scheduled grease points on vehicles
- Learn and perform brake inspections and basic documentation
- Assist with basic repairs on heavy-duty and light-duty vehicles, including:
- Rear Loaders
- Front Loaders
- Roll-Off Trucks
- Grapple Trucks
- Other service equipment
- Inspect and identify basic vehicle issues (lights, mirrors, leaks, body damage, etc.)
- Assist with fluid top-offs (oil, hydraulic fluid, transmission fluid, DEF, etc.)
- Support tire inspections and air pressure adjustments
- Help maintain shop cleanliness and organization in compliance with OSHA standards
- Document work performed, including parts usage and time tracking
- Use factory service manuals and follow established procedures for repairs
- Communicate with drivers and senior technicians regarding vehicle condition and maintenance needs
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn diesel systems
- Familiarity with tools and basic vehicle maintenance practices
- Ability to assist with inspections, lubrication, and preventive maintenance tasks
- Basic understanding of vehicle components (lights, brakes, fluids, tires, etc.)
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for work orders and documentation
- Strong attention to safety, reliability, and work quality

Physical demands include:
- Entering and exiting a commercial vehicle cab 50–100 times per day
- Lifting requirements:
- Up to 75 lbs from floor to waist unassisted
- Up to 50 lbs from floor to shoulder height unassisted
- Up to 50 lbs overhead unassisted
- Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Performing repetitive movements 100–200 times per day, including:
- Bending at knees and waist
- Reaching overhead and outward with extended arms
- Twisting at the waist
- Working in extreme temperatures and varying weather conditions, including field and road call environments
