What You’ll Do
As a Tech A, you’ll be responsible for advanced diagnostics, repairs, and leadership within the shop:
- Diagnose and repair diesel, gasoline, and alternative fuel systems (CNG, LPG, Hybrid)
- Perform advanced work on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Service and maintain fleet vehicles including Mack, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Autocar, and equipment from Heil and McNeilus
- Use onboard computer systems to troubleshoot and identify repair needs
- Perform safety inspections and ensure DOT/OSHA compliance
- Complete work orders and documentation accurately and on time
- Support and mentor other technicians to ensure safe, efficient operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with heavy-duty (Class 8) trucks and equipment
- Strong diagnostic skills across drivetrain, engines, and transmissions
- Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to perform structural assessments and oversee repair decisions
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards for fleet maintenance
- Basic computer skills (maintenance software, Microsoft Office, etc.)
- CDL Class B preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to earn 7 ASE Certifications (or equivalent) within 36 months
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and team-oriented mindset

- Work in environments with exposure to residential and chemical waste
- Perform repetitive physical movements including walking, bending, twisting, crouching, and lifting

Physical Demands Include:
- Entering and exiting a commercial vehicle cab 50–100 times per day
- Lifting:
- 50–75 lbs from floor to waist
- Up to 50 lbs from floor to shoulder and overhead
- Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs without assistance
- Repetitive movements (100–200 times daily), including:
- Bending at the knees and waist
- Reaching overhead or outward with extended arms
- Twisting at the waist
- Ability to work in varied and extreme weather conditions, including during road calls
