Job Description
Royal Waste Services, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety‑focused Tractor Trailer Driver to join our team in Queens, NY. In this role, you will operate a tractor trailer to transport solid waste and recyclables between transfer stations, disposal sites, and customer locations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor trailer to haul solid waste and recyclables to designated facilities
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, ensuring equipment is in safe operating condition
- Transport loads between transfer stations, landfills, and customer sites according to route assignments
- Secure loads and ensure compliance with DOT, company, and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate driver logs, scale tickets, and required documentation
- Communicate with dispatch regarding route changes, delays, or equipment issues
- Maneuver tractor trailer in tight or congested areas, including transfer stations and customer yards
- Provide professional and courteous customer service when interacting with customers or site personnel
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned
- Work is performed outdoors and in all weather conditions
- Exposure to dust, odors, and loud noise at transfer stations and disposal sites
- Requires climbing in and out of the cab and hooking/unhooking trailers
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Valid Class A CDL
- Clean driving record
- Experience operating tractor trailers, waste industry preferred
