Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Technician / Laborer to join the team in Castaic, CA!
The schedule is subject to change, but will most likely be Monday – Friday 4am-2pm plus every other Saturday.
The starting pay range for this position will be $26-28/hour. The pay range for this job category is $26-30/hour. Your hourly rate will depend on experience and certifications.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Replacing and repairing valves and tanks used for holding liquid
- Moving and securing hoses from trucks to tanks
- Communicating clearly with other employees and vendors regarding liquid management
- Working with Compliance Manager on other projects as needed
- Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, odors, hazardous materials and/or loud noises
- Moderate physical activity, such as walking up and down hills, climbing stairs, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following safety precautions and training
- HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) training is highly preferred. Ability to get the 40 hour certification once hired is required.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness
- Experience working with hazardous waste is highly desirable
- Ability to adhere to work schedule, take initiative, and follow through on challenges as they arise
- Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, customers, and other employees

Salary : $26 - $28
