Works primarily in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, flames, water and extreme heat and cold. Occasional exposure to vibrations and noise.

Essential Functions
- Adheres to plant and department safety rules, safely operate all equipment and tools, identifies and reports safety problems, corrects when possible.
- Identify or test metals to be sorted by using spark or acid test, Nitons, mill marking identification, magnets, form & shape, or other appropriate methods.
- Sort metals to separate hi-temp alloys within their respective categories, and separating from Titanium, red metals, ferrous and non ferrous metals for recycling.
- Place sorted materials into barrels, bins, gaylords pallets or other appropriate containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, power lifts, or front-end loaders to load bales, bundles, or other heavy items onto trucks for shipping to smelters, customers or other facilities.
- Must be able to identify preventable mechanical malfunctions of machinery.
- Needs basic computer knowledge for ROM data entry and tag creation, material sortation and inventory control.
- Clean recycling yard by sweeping, raking, picking up debris, or moving barrels and bins.
- Knowledge and compliance with all ISO, Company and Safety procedures.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Two (2) years’ experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts preferred.
- Must pass a color vision test.
- Must have attention for detail, including basic math skills with the ability to add and subtract accurately.
- Proficient in the basic use of a computer to facilitate the entry and completion of work orders.
- Able to use basic hand tools.
- Must physically be able to frequently lift up to 35 lbs with frequent bending.
- Able to multi-task with shifting priorities and multiple interruptions.
- Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as needed, including 12 hour shifts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
