Previous waste experience would be a huge plus!
This will be a Monday - Friday position working Mon-Thurs 2:00pm - 10:30pm and Friday 12:00pm - 8:30pm. Some weekday overtime or Saturday work is required.
This is a union position with a pension plan, plus fully paid benefits (medical, dental, vision) for employees dependents.
The starting wage is $47.88/hour. The pay scale for this position is $47.88 - $59.85/hour. The wage is increased to $59.85/hour after 1 year of employment.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services. Performs inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
- Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns. Class B CDL preferred or ability to obtain in the future.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
- Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair.
- Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position.
- Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.
- The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
- Minimum 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement preferred or the ability to obtain in the future required.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must provide own personal tools.
