Maintenance Technician – Car Wash

Job Level: Entry-Level

Location: Field-based role supporting all WashU locations across the Chicagoland area (travel required)

Status: Full-Time

Compensation: $45,000–$50,000/year mileage reimbursement at $0.72 per mile

Travel Requirement: Frequent travel between WashU locations (daily/weekly as needed)

About the Role:

At WashU, a Maintenance Technician is focused on ensuring our equipment and facilities operate safely, efficiently, and at a high standard. Their primary responsibility is to support routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and help minimize downtime so our sites can deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience. Maintenance Technicians play a key role behind the scenes and should always aim to represent the brand by maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on car wash equipment

• Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues and escalate as needed

• Support preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment areas and maintenance spaces

• Monitor equipment performance and report any issues promptly

• Assist with inventory and organization of maintenance supplies and parts

• Follow all safety procedures and company standards

Key Requirements:

• Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in maintenance work

• Ability to learn equipment systems and troubleshooting processes

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Reliable and punctual with flexibility for varying schedules

• Comfortable working in outdoor environments and around equipment

Prior car wash experience is preferred but not required—we provide on-site training to help you succeed.
