Psychiatrist (Coalition) - Initial target salary $311,424

At Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility in beautiful Burien, Washington, our team works to serve youth ages 13 to 17 who have co-occurring intellectual and developmental disabilities. Facility staff work alongside youth, empowering them to learn self-care skills so that they can thrive.

The Psychiatrist reports to the Executive Medical Officer (EMO) of the Lake Burien Care Facility. In this role, you'll be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing treatment and planning of treatments to youth with complex needs in a transitional care setting. You will prescribe medication within licensing authority, monitor appropriate lab work, and work closely with the interdisciplinary team. You'll provide emergency psychiatric treatment, review treatment plans, clerical records, and admission and discharges for quality and adherence to transitional care treatment facility policy.

The facility opened in July 2024 with support from DSHS, Washington State Department of Children Youth and Families, Washington State Health Care Authority, MultiCare and Seattle Children’s Hospital. This voluntary facility currently serves up to 12 youth. The property was designed with youth in mind and features accessible spaces for on-site educational services and therapies, and beautiful outdoor spaces. Lake Burien is part of DSHS's Behavioral Health & Habilitation Administration.

You’ll start with excellent pay and family-supportive benefits, along with a reliable retirement plan. With dedicated support staff, no out-of-pocket operating costs, and a Monday–Friday schedule, you can focus on your work and still have time to maintain balance in life.

King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
