Description

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Finance, Technology and Analytics Administration (FTAA) is seeking a Plant Communications Coordinator to join their team at Western State Hospital in Lakewood, Washington.

You'll work closely with managers and supervisors and maintain a computerized and centralized building and equipment work order system. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide your service to the community and our clients.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs.

Some Of What You’ll Do

  • Administrative support for MOD facility/program, staff, and vendors.
  • Perform office operations and prepare background information in preparation for staff’s daily work; keep records and establish priorities; make travel arrangements; screen, prioritize, and distribute mail.
  • Coordinates and assists as liaison between supervisors, other DSHS staff members, program staff, vendors, and management, transmitting assignments and requesting status information.
  • Provide administrative support to establish office procedures, standards, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Perform background checks for new hires.
  • Assist Facility Manager with FARM (personnel management system) requests.
  • Coordinate staff work.
  • Develop and create reports.
  • Train staff in client and administrative support, and problem resolution.
  • Organize and maintain all compliance related information in one central location.
  • Proofreads material, making corrections for sentence structure, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Establishes office procedures, standards, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Receive all incoming hospital service requests.
  • Create work orders and assign them to associated shops; monitor to ensure timely completion.
  • Assists with procedures with any maintenance repair or emergency repair, and coordinate work order management process.
  • Log, track, and distribute work orders to MOD staff to complete the necessary repairs.
  • Operate FM radio communications system to dispatch maintenance personnel.

Who should apply?

Those with a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and one year of experience in some aspect of shop-related work that provides general familiarity with repair and maintenance activities

Desired

Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems, and familiarity with Windows-based computer programs
