Facility Service Coordinator
This is an in-person, full-time, permanent position that supports safe, functional, and efficient workspaces across our agency.
We’re looking for a dependable and skilled Facilities Services Coordinator to join our team. This position reports to the Workplace Design Manager and is responsible for hands-on facilities work, coordination of office projects, and support for workspace updates and procurement activities. The role requires technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Maintenance
Assemble, disassemble, repair, and install systems furniture, and office equipment using architectural drawings, specifications, and installation instructions. Daily tasks may include touch-up painting, minor repairs, adjusting workstations, and responding to facilities-related issues such as flickering lights or minor HVAC concerns.
Project & Space Coordination
Work closely with contractors, building owners, and DOH staff to plan and execute workspace projects. This includes providing site access, preparing for project tasks, participating in progress meetings, and helping update space records in the agency’s space management software.
Customer Service & Communication
Respond to staff and management inquiries related to office layouts, building issues, and workspace requests through phone, email, and in person. You’ll also support internal moves by relocating furniture, disconnecting/reconnecting equipment, and assisting employees with personal belongings.
Administrative & Technology Support
This position uses various tools, including Service Central (our work management system), Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and other agency systems to manage work orders, maintain calendars, join virtual meetings, and track space planning updates.
Location and Flexibility
Join our onsite team to collaborate directly with colleagues and be part of our dynamic workplace environment. This position requires working onsite and in-person at our Tumwater WA, duty station, with occasional work at our field offices as needed.

- Assess buildings and grounds to coordinate installations or identify required repairs.
- Assemble, disassemble, install, and repair office furniture, cubicle systems, and equipment using architectural drawings, specifications, and instructions.
- Perform minor repairs such as painting, sanding, and troubleshooting systems furniture components.
- Supporting procurement tasks, including obtaining quotes, tracking purchase orders and invoices, and processing surplus or recycling.
AND
- Customer service experience includes resolving problems and responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and services.
- Practical skills in MS Excel for spreadsheet tasks, workflow management systems, MS Word for document creation and formatting, and Microsoft Outlook or similar email systems for electronic correspondence.
- More than 1 year of experience in commercial furniture installations
- Previous experience with furniture refurbishment, upholstery, carpentry, carpeting, drywall/patching/texturing/ painting experience
- OSHA or other safety-related training
- Forklift Certification

- Commit to a full-time 40-hour workweek schedule (flexible work schedule requests must be approved supervisor).

- Climb using stairs and ladders to access the space above the ceiling tiles, the roof of each building, and crawl on floors in and under tight workstations.
- Wear safety equipment such as a dust mask or respirator (due to dust and other air particles), safety glasses, earplugs or safety earmuffs, gloves, steel-toe boots, and other safety equipment as needed by the job.
- Move or transport materials and boxes weighing up to 70 pounds, independently and unassisted.
- Engage in emergency response exercises and high-priority assignments as assigned during emergency events.
