POSITION SUMMARY:
The Materials & Tolling Coordinator is responsible for all required activities associated with managing outside warehouses, tolling production and covering as a backup for the Logistics Manager. Position is expected to fully support Washington Penn Plastic's philosophy and standards and be personally involved in continuous improvement for warehouse management, toll production and the logistics manager function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outside Warehouses
The Materials & Tolling Coordinator is responsible for all required activities associated with managing outside warehouses, tolling production and covering as a backup for the Logistics Manager. Position is expected to fully support Washington Penn Plastic's philosophy and standards and be personally involved in continuous improvement for warehouse management, toll production and the logistics manager function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outside Warehouses
- Oversee all outside warehouse operations.
- Understands warehouse, logistics and packaging costs and coordinates activities in the most cost-effective manner.
- Analyze and evaluate the economic value of warehouse storage and freight for customer fulfillment.
- Evaluate and select new warehouses and carriers as customer requirements evolve.
- Coordinates with scheduling, production, shipping, customer service, product and account managers to ensure customer fulfillment.
- Work with corporate and divisional production scheduling to replenish warehoused materials.
- Oversee the transportation of finished goods from production sites to warehouse and customer locations.
- Coordinates and schedules all warehouse orders with outside warehouse and carrier contacts.
- Monitor warehouse orders to customer order patterns and manage inventory stock ensuring customer deliveries are met.
- Attach orders to proper warehouse location, perform quality approval, carrier and warehouse scheduling and shipping functions.
- Ensure accurate inventory of raw materials are ordered and arrive from suppliers to outside warehouses to support resale business.
- Manage outside warehouse inventories and resolve all variances.
- Ensure inventory turns to minimize old inventory in warehouses.
- Review, reconcile and approve all warehouse storage and associated carrier invoices.
- Working knowledge of TMS for scheduling carrier deliveries and reconciling delivery exceptions.
- Perform process audits of warehouses and carriers.
- Investigate, problem solve and communicate with customer service, production, quality, product and account managers, warehouse, carriers and customers to resolve customer issues.
- Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.
- Oversee all toll production facilities.
- Ensures the tolling partner is meeting customer and Washington Penn Plastic's quality standards.
- Coordinates line time for toll production to maximize tolling capacity.
- Manages system activities for all toll jobs including material and miscellaneous requisitions, scheduling, inventory, quality assurance, job closure and shipment to internal and external customers.
- Order raw materials, and packaging to support toll production.
- Tracks raw materials, materials-in-process, and finished goods to ensure customer orders are met.
- Obtains and analyzes production data to ensure quality and cost-effective production.
- Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.
- Backup Logistics Manager at all times, scheduling TL and LTL deliveries utilizing TMS and PRIMOS systems.
- Work with outside carriers, customer service, production and shipping to ensure order fulfillment.
- Individual is expected to perform job duties in compliance with defined management system requirements.
- Individual has responsibility for product quality and is authorized to stop production in order to correct quality problems.
- Leads the outside warehouse and toll operations in problem solving activities.
- Supports and motivates others towards continuous improvement

- At least 5 years of experience in logistics, warehousing and packaging highly preferred
- Strong leadership and communications skills
- Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills
- Financial management knowledge
- Must possess good written, verbal and presentation communication skills.

- Ability to work independently, to organize, takes initiative and exercise sound judgment.
- Must be able to travel to Customer sites, Vendors, and between all facilities at least 10% as needed
