The Department of War (DoW), Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), is seeking Transportation Logistics Managers to join the Transportation Management Program Office (TMPO).
WE ARE HIRING FOR TWO (2) POSITIONS:
- GS-13 (Full Performance Level): For expert candidates ready to lead immediately.
- GS-12 (Career Ladder to GS-13): For candidates with strong experience who are ready to grow into the full role.
We are the team that moves the Pentagon. We ensure the Office of the Secretary of War and the Joint Staff have the mobility required to execute their mission. This is a critical operational role located at the Pentagon Reservation.
What You Will Do
- Master the Logistics: Plan and optimize multimodal transportation operations for the Pentagon Transit Center and Mark Center Station (Shuttles, Mass Transit, Fleet).
- Manage Contracts (COR): Serve as a Contracting Officer’s Representative. You will manage vendor performance, review cost proposals, and ensure strict contract compliance.
- Financial Management: Oversee the Taxable Fringe Benefit Program (Home-to-Work/MILAIR) for Senior Leaders, ensuring accurate IRS reporting.
- Drive Strategy: Analyze fleet utilization data to drive process improvements and efficiency across the National Capital Region.
What You Need to Succeed
- For the GS-13 Level: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level (or private sector equivalent) in transportation, logistics, or fleet management.
- For the GS-12 Level: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level (or private sector equivalent).
- Contracting Knowledge: Experience as a COR (FAC-COR Level II / DoD Type B) or experience writing Statements of Work (SOW) is highly preferred.
- Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
