About the Role:
The WHS Acquisition Directorate is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Contract Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this entry-level role, you will provide comprehensive acquisition support services for critical Department of Defense (DoD) components. You will gain hands-on experience in all phases of the acquisition lifecycle, from pre-award planning to post-award administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-award and post-award contracting functions for a variety of contract types, including fixed-price and cost-reimbursement.
- Develop acquisition plans, procurement packages, and source selection criteria.
- Conduct market research and prepare solicitations.
- Analyze proposals, assist in negotiations, and prepare contract award documents.
- Administer contracts by monitoring performance, ensuring compliance with terms, and processing modifications.
- Collaborate with customers, legal counsel, and financial specialists to ensure mission success.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- DAWIA Certification: A current DAWIA Level II certification in Contracting is required. The selected candidate will be required to obtain Level III certification within 12 months of appointment.
Technical Proficiency:
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Docs Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets) or comparable tools.
- Experience with or knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and applications is desired.
- Knowledge of federal acquisition principles, regulations (FAR/DFARS), and procedures.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Conditions of Employment:
- This is a full-time, in-office position located in Arlington, VA.
- This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
- The incumbent will be required to submit a financial disclosure statement (OGE-450) upon assuming the position and annually thereafter.
