    Grade 10 Step 1 with a starting hourly rate of $24.23. Potential future earnings for this position on the ESP Salary Scale are $24.23 - $43.82. Additional steps will only be considered for PreK-12 teaching experience under state-issued professional licensure.
    7 Hours/Day, 10-Month Work Year

    Minimum Requirements
    High school diploma/GED.
    Must meet Highly Qualified status (A.A. Degree, 48 credit hours, or have successfully passed the Paraprofessional Praxis Test).
    Experience working with at-risk youth.
    Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
    Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Bachelor’s Degree.
    Effective interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
    Training and experience working with populations relevant to the assigned school.
    Experience in education and/or human or social services.
    Effective technology skills.

    Role Responsibilities
    Implement school-based dropout prevention efforts.
    Meet regularly with targeted students to build relationships and understand individual needs.
    Provide case management and intervention for identified students.
    Develop and implement strategies that will assist students to reduce absenteeism, improve grades and reduce discipline referrals.
    Develop effective working relationships with families through correspondence, school meetings, phone conferences and home visits.
    Collaborate with school-based personnel (guidance counselors, teachers, administrators, etc.) to advocate for students and provide meaningful intervention.
    Help to facilitate efforts to ensure smooth transition for students from middle school to high school.
    Collaborate with district student services personnel (supervisors, PPWs, specialists, etc.) to ensure program alignment and smooth delivery of services.
    Develop effective relationships with community service providers, youth agencies and local committees to facilitate procurement of supplemental resources for students and families.
    Participate in transitional processes, including intakes and transfers and monitor student progress in various placements outside of the home school.
    Arrange for individual academic support as needed.
    Monitor cohort graduation status, credits earned, SSL hour completion, completer requirements, and any credit recovery needs for graduation.
    Monitor all student withdrawals for the purpose of reclaiming dropouts.
    Participate in effective behavioral and conflict management/resolution efforts.
    Serve as active participant in school Student Support Team meetings to help develop and implement appropriate strategies and interventions.
    Assist in the coordination of relevant special activities.
    Maintain all student and personnel documentation as required and submit in a timely fashion.
    Maintain confidentiality of student information.
    Participate in school and department professional development.
    Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
    Other duties as requested.

    Required periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and other office equipment.
    Ability to sufficiently and efficiently move throughout the building and grounds for extended periods.
    Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with others as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, and hear.
    Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
    Ability to move, raise, lower, and carry objects up to 20 lbs. on an irregular basis.
    Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop, reach, and climb.
    Will be subjected to loud noises, interactions, and traffic flow associated within a highly populated office environment.

Salary : $24 - $44
