Washington Central Unified Union School District is looking for a positive and enthusiastic educator to join U-32's middle school as a full-time Social Studies teacher working as part of a core team of 7th or 8th grade teachers. The ideal candidate will have the ability to plan, organize, and implement a proficiency-based instructional program, have experience in project-based and interdisciplinary teaching, and experience using Common Core Social Studies and/or ELA Standards. Must be able to work creatively and collaboratively to create an environment that invites respect for all persons, relate a sense of fairness, and practice commitment to inclusion and diversity. Training in restorative practices is preferred.
This position also includes responsibilities as the Teacher Advisor for 8-10 students.The 700-student, 7-12 school is located on a beautiful hilltop campus in Central Vermont.
