Job Title: Title I Secondary Mathematics Tutor
Reports to: Principal or District Administration
Job Description:
A Title I Secondary Mathematics Tutor helps students outside of school strengthen problem-solving skills, understand mathematical concepts, and build confidence in their abilities. They tailor instruction to each student’s learning needs, assist with homework and test preparation, and promote effective study habits to improve academic achievement.
Qualifications:
- Teacher Certification in Secondary Mathematics
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ math skills and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide clear explanations of mathematical concepts, formulas, and problem-solving techniques.
- Assist students with homework, projects, and exam preparation.
- Use a variety of instructional methods and tools to enhance student understanding and engagement.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Provide feedback and encouragement to build confidence and motivation.
- Reinforce critical thinking, logical reasoning, and analytical skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Compensation for tutoring outside the school day:
$25.00 per hour
