REAL PROPERTY SPECIALIST

FOR THE

Washington County Assessor's Office

FULL TIME/ WITH BENEFITS/ $21.26 PER HOUR

Washington County is seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and service-minded Real Property Specialist to join the Assessor's Office. This position provides technical and specialized office support for the County's real property assessment program, while also serving as an important point of contact for the public. The position works closely with appraisal teams to research property information, maintain accurate records and databases, process documents, and support assessment-related activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide friendly and professional customer service to the public by phone and in person.
• Research, collect, verify, and maintain real property and sales information.
• Research parcel splits, combinations, ownership, and property records.
• Process, scan, organize, annotate, and maintain electronic and paper records.
• Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and other data management systems.
• Coordinate the collection of building permits and related information from municipalities.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, educational materials, and other documents.
• Process assessment-related billings, payments, refunds, and data calculations.
• Assist with appeals and prepare documentation for the County Board of Equalization.
• Proofread and review documents and reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform mathematical calculations, reconcile totals, and prepare data and estimates.
• Coordinate assessment activities with County departments and appraisal teams.
• Maintain office inventories, resources, files, and records.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent; and
• Two (2) years of clerical or technical office experience involving duties related to the position;
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
