The Wasco Union Elementary School District serves over 3,650 students in grade levels pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Founded in 1940, the district is comprised of four elementary schools and two middle schools. Requirements / Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent Must have completed (1) two years of study (minimum of 48 semester units) at an institution of higher education OR (2) possession of an associate’s (or higher) degree OR (3) met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness) Must be able to observe confidentiality of records and situations Must possess a positive attitude toward children Possession of current CPR and First Aid certification Desired Qualifications: Courses or training in child care, child guidance or child development Enthusiasm for and commitment to assigned tasks Knowledge of Classroom procedures for exceptional children Ability to deal with conflict situations and hyperactive students
