Warwick Publishing is looking for a Pre-Press Manager to join our operations.
This role is responsible for overseeing and assisting with the daily operations of the Pre-Press Department. This includes but is not limited to, order proofing, virtual mock-ups, platemaking, troubleshooting, and real-time quality control adjustments to orders in production.
Daily tasks involve usage of Warwick’s proprietary operations software, Adobe Creative Suite, Esko Automation Software, and email communication with vendors and clients. This position also works closely with the Customer Service Department to ensure timely and proper job quality control before they go to production as well as guide corrective action for re-runs.
This is a working manager role – candidates should be prepared to have 3-4 direct reports and to be doing pre-production responsibilities alongside them, not just managing the department.
The ideal candidate should be detail oriented and someone who likes to coach and build up a department. Furthermore, the candidate should enjoy modernizing and driving continual improvements in both the department they oversee and the operations as a whole.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage a department of 3-4 individuals
- Coordinate, send, and receive communication from customers and vendors regarding order artwork, pre-press supplies, and other related tasks
- Prepare Printed, Stamped, Embossed, and Die Cut jobs for proofing, virtual renderings, and to production through the use of Esko’s Automation Suite and Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator
- Work with the Customer Service Department to prioritize rush orders, troubleshoot problem orders, and coordinate cross-departmental efforts as needed
- Work with upper management to continually improve/revise processes inside and outside of the Pre-Press Department as fit
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 3 Years of Experience in a Pre-Press/Pre-Production Management role with direct reports
- 5 Years of Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator. There will be a skills test for this administered during the interview process
- Detail Oriented and a Critical Thinker
- An affinity for process improvement and standardization
Schedule Compensation:
Pay: $28–$31/hour
Hours: Full-time
