JOB OVERVIEW:
The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for executing core accounting functions for the management company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting FP&A with timely and reliable information. This role will lead month-end close, prepare consolidated financial statements, maintain compliance with GAAP, and assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic investment firm environment. This position reports to the WIG Controller and is a hybrid position. (4 days in office and 1 day working from home).
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILTIES

Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for the management company.

Execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data.

Partner with FP&A to provide financial data, variance explanations, and trend analysis.

Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

Respond to FP&A inquiries and provide supporting schedules for management reporting.

Support external audits by preparing PBCs and coordinating with auditors.

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.

Work closely with finance, operations, and investment teams to support corporate initiatives.

Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting for senior management.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.

CPA certification a plus.

4-6 years’ experience in corporate accounting/financial reporting, preferably with an upstream oil and gas company or public accounting firm.
