What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Substitute Teacher - DLI (Spanish preferred) position at Warsaw Community Schools?
Reports to:
Building Principal
General Summary:
In the absence of regular classroom teacher to help students to learn subject matter and/or skills that are required for scheduled lessons and to provide meaningful instruction for assigned classrooms.
Essential Functions:
Carry out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans
Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
Take attendance in accordance with school procedures (we are available to assist)
Indicate to students the basic expectations for behavior in the class in accordance with WCS policies
Know emergency evacuation routes for classroom assigned (we are available to assist)
Know procedures for referring students who are disciplinary problems (we are available to assist)
May perform duties usually required of absent teacher such as bus duty, hall monitoring or other duties assigned by building principal
Qualifications:

Age 18
High School Diploma
Ability to maintain effective classroom management
Ability to follow oral and written directions
Spanish proficiency will be assessed
Length of Contract:
5 days per week; spilit between Eisenhower and Leesburg Elementary
