What are the responsibilities and job description for the GSRP Classroom Assistant position at Warren Woods Public Schools?
School Year position - Monday-Friday
$15.00 per hour
Summary of duties: To assist in maintaining a safe, caring learning environment for preschool students and help with their learning and communications within the preschool environment. To assist parents of preschools to enhance their understanding of learning and communication with their children. To be a continual learner in the understanding of preschool education.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or child development equivalent
Or
Child Development Associate (CDA)
Early childhood education philosophy compatible with program philosophy
Preschool experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the learning activities for preschool students
- Help to develop the GSRP program
- Help with the Advisory Committee
- Work with materials, supplies, equipment in the program
- Help with the development of the curriculum
- Assist with parents of students
- Assess students and keep detailed records of student learning and growth
- Work with support agencies (social services, MISD, therapists, health department, etc.)
- Collaborate with other preschools in the district and building as directed by program teacher
- Participate in professional development as required
- Work with the GSRP teacher to make the program the best it can be
- Other duties as assigned
