Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, focusing on literacy, math, and early childhood education principles.
- Support classroom management strategies to create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and cognitive growth through hands-on learning experiences.
- Help maintain a well-organized classroom by preparing materials, setting up learning centers, and ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and team members to support individual learning goals and behavioral needs.
- Assist in documenting children’s progress through observations and assessments to inform instructional strategies and parent updates.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives that incorporate Montessori, preschool, toddler care, or other specialized educational approaches.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and best practices in special education and behavior management.
- Familiarity with lesson planning techniques for literacy education, math skills development, and curriculum implementation tailored for early learners.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with children, families, and team members.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior positively while fostering an engaging learning environment.
- Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous; Montessori or private school experience is a bonus.
