Position Summary
The Work Tool Specialist initiates orders, tracks, maintains, and manages all work tools for Cat rental machines across the Major Projects’ national footprint. This includes Cat and third-party work tools.
This role serves as the primary point of contact for work tools internally at Major Projects, as well as a liaison with Cat work tool specialists, other dealers, and customers. This person must be a great communicator, collaborator and team player.
Essential Functions
15-20% travel across North America. Overnight travel may be required. This role supports major project opportunities across the United States and Canada.

Essential Functions
- Initiates orders for all Cat and third-party work tools
- Tracks all new work tools on order, communicates status of delivery and transport to all relevant parties including sales, operations, and yard personnel
- Receives all work tools into the inventory system in accordance with company ordering and receiving process
- Maintains accurate specifications for descriptions of inventory, pricing, and serial numbers
- Tracks current and accurate information on each tool, including maintenance and usage records
- Performs or coordinates inventory at main stocking locations, and supervises inventory at other locations
- Assists with the reconciliation of work tool inventory records with the accounting department
- Works with coordinators to ensure the machines are properly equipped before delivery to the customer
- Assists sales personnel with customer work tool needs
- Coordinates transportation for all new work tools from the manufacturer to designated locations
- Manages any freight claims related to work tools
- Manages warranty claims and inventory returns related to work tools
- Works safely at all times. Adheres to all applicable safety policies. Complies with all company policies, procedures and standards
- Performs other duties assigned by manager
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-4 years purchasing or inventory management
- 1-3 years of administrative/clerical experience
- Familiarity or expertise with construction equipment and work tools/attachments preferred

Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, talking, sitting, using hands, and hearing.
- Sedentary to medium-sized work may require lifting and/or moving up to 32 pounds.
- Ability to visit active construction jobsites includes uneven terrain, elevated noise levels, and variable weather conditions.
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and access heavy equipment as needed for customer demonstrations and site visits.
- Remote or hybrid schedule with corporate office as primary base.
- Occasional travel to customer offices, jobsites, dealer locations, and industry events.
- Indoor/outdoor environments; noise level ranges from moderate (office) to loud (jobsites).
- This position is considered safety sensitive.
