Warren Averett is assisting a client in the search for an experienced and detail-oriented CMM Programmer. This individual will be a key contributor within the Quality department, responsible for developing, debugging, and optimizing CMM programs and inspection processes in support of company-wide quality objectives.
The CMM Programmer will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure dimensional accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, debug, optimize, and execute CMM programs using solid models and “touch-and-teach” techniques
- Develop, sustain, and improve CMM inspection methods and procedures
- Verify CMM program accuracy using conventional inspection methods
- Interpret engineering drawings, solid models, and specifications
- Apply strong working knowledge of GD&T requirements
- Utilize a variety of inspection tools and surface plate layout techniques
- Perform set-up, first article, in-process, and final inspections
- Make accurate, independent decisions regarding product disposition
- Troubleshoot quality and inspection issues; implement corrective actions
- Train and mentor manufacturing and quality personnel on proper CMM usage and data interpretation
- Accurately input all required inspection data into the manufacturing database
- Communicate product non-conformances promptly to leadership
- Adhere to and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support cross-functional quality and manufacturing initiatives
- Complete other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience
Preferred:
- Vocational or Technical Degree
- Strong computer and software proficiency
- Experience with OpenDMIS CMM software (preferred, not required)
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel may be required
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels
- Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, or airborne particles
