Summary
A Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by preparing and serving beverages, taking food orders, and delivering meals to guests in a timely and efficient manner. This role requires a strong understanding of drink recipes, food menu items, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mix, garnish, and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and customer preferences.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are noted.
- Deliver food orders to guests promptly, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met.
- Provide exceptional service by engaging with guests in a friendly, professional manner, making recommendations, and addressing any concerns.
- Monitor and manage inventory of bar supplies, restocking as necessary, and communicating low stock levels to management.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar and dining area, including washing glasses, cleaning tables, and sanitizing equipment.
- Accurately process payments, handle cash, and operate the point of sale (POS) system.
- Adhere to all local and state alcohol serving laws and regulations, including verifying the age of customers.
- Work closely with other staff members, including kitchen staff and other servers, to ensure seamless service.
- Assist in setting up and serving during special events or busy periods, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bartender or server in a restaurant or bar setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with a wide range of drink recipes and the ability to mix drinks accurately and quickly. Understanding of food menu items and pairing recommendations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with guests. Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (such as kegs and trays), and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Current ‘Beer Savvy’ Beer Server Certification; Possession of a bartending license or certification may be required depending on the location. Food handling certification may also be required.
