The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving craft cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages while providing warm, friendly service in line with our laid-back, Southern-inspired hospitality. The ideal candidate is reliable, fast-paced, personable, and passionate about great food and drink.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and engage with a genuine, upbeat attitude.
- Prepare and serve all beverages—alcoholic and non-alcoholic—according to Dayton Barbecue Co. standards and recipes.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized bar at all times, restocking as needed.
- Accurately enter orders and process transactions through the POS system.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service.
- Verify guest age when serving alcohol in compliance with state laws.
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup, breakdown, inventory, and cash handling.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and local liquor laws.
- Promote house specials, new cocktails, and seasonal offerings.
Qualifications:
- Previous bartending experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of beer, spirits, and cocktail preparation.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and multitasking skills.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Availability on nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Familiarity with Toast POS or similar systems is a plus.
- TIPS or other alcohol safety certification preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $9.50 per hour
