Position Title: Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Agricultural Studies

 

Department: Academic Affairs > Agricultural Studies

 

Position Summary:  Warner University is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Agricultural Studies to begin in Fall 2026. The primary responsibilities associated with this position include teaching a variety of in-person and online undergraduate courses in Agriculture business, plant science and other related fields. Additional duties may include the development and implementation of department programming, revision of existing courses, development of new ones, and the management of department facilities, equipment, and property.

Other responsibilities include student advising and serving on department, college, and university-wide committees.

The university seeks candidates committed to both in-person teaching and online education, as well as to research, service, and the university's mission. The successful candidate will teach primarily in the traditional, in-person setting at Warner University’s campus in Lake Wales and may also teach online. 

Candidates should have a minimum of a master's degree, with a doctorate/terminal degree preferred, in Plant Science, Soil and Water Science, Agronomy, Horticultural Science, Agricultural Education and Leadership, or a closely related field/discipline from a regionally accredited program.

In keeping with Warner University’s accreditation with SACSCOC and the guidelines provided in the Principles of Accreditation, the university will require the following:

  • Faculty teaching baccalaureate courses: doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
  • Faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate coursework: earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching/or practical experience in the field.

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a commitment to Christian education, particularly in the relationship between faith and his/her academic discipline. The chosen candidate must affirm and support the university’s Statement of Faith. Preference will be given to candidates with some degree of theological education or experience in Christian education within an orthodox, evangelical context. 

Some experience in teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred. Experience with Moodle or a similar online learning platform is also desirable.

  • a letter of interest
  • a curriculum vitae/resume
  • a faith statement that contains both a personal testimony and a thoughtful response to each paragraph of the university’s official statement of faith (https://warner.edu/the-university/who-we-are/full-statement-of-faith/)
  • copies of all transcripts (these can be unofficial copies of your transcripts at this time)
  • the names, titles, and contact information for three (3) to five (5) professional references

The starting date is July 1st, 2026. Faculty rank will be contingent on qualifications and experience.
