6th Grade Teachers (2 Positions – Full-Time) ~~Part Time may be considered~~
Warner Christian Academy – South Daytona, Florida
Position Overview
Warner Christian Academy (WCA) is seeking two Christ-centered, academically strong, and relationally driven 6th Grade Teachers for the 2025–2026 school year. These positions are part of a three-teacher 6th grade team committed to partnering with families and guiding students through a pivotal transition into middle school.
Each position includes five teaching periods and two planning periods daily, allowing for intentional preparation, collaboration, and student support.
While final assignments will be based on candidate strengths and team cohesion, the roles are anticipated to include the following:
- Position 1 (STEM-Focused):
- 3 sections of Math and 2 sections of Science (1-Math 6 and 2-Adv Math)
- Position 2 (Humanities-Focused):
- 3 sections of Ancient Civilizations, 1 section of Bible, and 1 section of Science
Both roles will likely include no more than three distinct course preparations.

Primary Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in assigned subject areas
- Integrate a biblical worldview authentically across all disciplines
- Cultivate intellectual virtues such as curiosity, courage, attentiveness, and perseverance
- Use varied instructional strategies to support diverse learners
Student Development
- Build strong, Christ-centered relationships with students
- Establish a structured, positive, and engaging classroom culture
- Support students in developing responsibility, discipline, and a love of learning
Assessment & Communication
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, meaningful feedback
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date grade records
- Communicate proactively and professionally with parents
Collaboration & Professionalism
- Collaborate closely with the 6th grade team to ensure alignment and consistency
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
- Contribute to a unified, mission-driven school culture
Spiritual Expectations
- Demonstrate a clear, mature, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Serve as a Christian role model in word and action
- Lead or support spiritual formation opportunities, including prayer, devotions, and Bible instruction (as assigned)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (education or content area preferred; advanced degree a plus)
- Teaching experience at the upper elementary or middle school level preferred
- Strength in relevant content areas (Math/Science or Humanities/Bible)
- Commitment to Christian education and alignment with WCA’s mission
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and relational abilities
Work Schedule
