Hours: Full-time Monday - Friday, 8:00am -- 4:30pm
Compensation: Starting Wage $19.47, Wage Range $19.47 - $34.47/hour

Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to paint and finish wooden guitar bodies and necks. This role involves following standard operating procedures to select the appropriate materials, mix and match custom colors, and apply finishes using HVLP/HP spray guns. The painter will be responsible for correcting imperfections on parts such as bubbles, sand-throughs, and paint runs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, working with speed and precision, and taking great pride in their work.
Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities Include:
- Topcoat and basecoat guitar bodies and necks with urethane, color, gloss, and satin paints.
- Apply various paints and finishes to guitar parts including transparent, metallic, flake, burst, etc.
- Correct finish flaws such as pinholes, bubbles, sand-throughs, dings, and runs using methods such as airbrushing, priming, sanding, and recoating.
- Meet performance standards and productivity expectations for the position.
- Mix paints and match colors.
- Perform research and development with hands-on testing of new materials, tools, and processes.
- Maintenance and repair paint room equipment, filters, guns, etc.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
- Handle and store paint materials in compliance with company policy, state and federal regulations.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of relevant fast-paced production, and manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience painting in a spray booth preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
A basic knowledge of:
- spray gun usages and spray gun repair on HVLP guns, and high-pressure gun systems such as Iwata, Binks, Kremlin, Devilbiss, Sata, 3M preferred
- spray equipment, single component, and plural component preferred
A general knowledge of:
- of a variety of electric sanders, other electric tools and hand tools
Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent eye for quality of craftsmanship.
- Excellent time management.
Able to:
- stand and occasionally walk for an 8-hour period
- bend, reach and twist upper and lower body
- move items up to 50 lbs.
- wear a tight-fitting respirator, which may require no facial hair to ensure a proper seal
- maintain hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity for an 8-hour period
- maintain good vision to include close vision and depth perception for an 8-hour period
- maintain high-quality output while meeting daily production expectations
- distinguish color hues in various lighting
- stay focused and alert while performing repetitive tasks
- work at a quick pace while maintaining superior quality standards
Working Environment:
This position does not supervise other positions but may assist with training other employees. This position is full-time, onsite, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The work location for this position is manufacturing and may occasionally experience a loud, dusty, and/or wet environment, and paint and chemical fumes. This work area is not temperature controlled and may experience higher temperatures in the summer. This position will spend most of the day standing or walking and lifting or moving guitar parts to paint them. While this role is primarily independent, it requires regular collaboration with team members to maintain an efficient workflow through the department.
