Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead our nursing and patient care services. Experience Required:
Experience of five (5) or more years as a Registered Nurse exhibiting professional growth in increasingly more responsible management positions. Formal or informal training showing skills in labor relations, financial management, interpersonal relationships, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Credentials Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent required with a Master of Science in Nursing or related health field preferred with education focused on theories of management and principes of organization and strategies for nursing administration.
Education required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for nursing operations across all departments, including assisted living, nursing homes, hospice & palliative care, home health, and hospital settings.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient outcomes, staff performance, and operational efficiency aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, Medicare standards, hospital accreditation requirements, and state licensing laws.
- Lead efforts in nursing management, including nurse recruitment, retention, training, and professional development to cultivate a high-performing team.
- Collaborate with medical staff and administrative leaders to optimize clinical workflows, enhance patient care quality, and ensure accurate medical records management.
- Monitor financial performance related to nursing services by managing budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring resource allocation aligns with organizational priorities.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and physiology/ anatomy knowledge to promote a safe environment for residents and staff alike.
- Drive initiatives related to Medicare compliance, hospital regulatory standards, and healthcare management best practices to sustain accreditation and funding eligibility.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in nursing leadership within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospital environments, or hospice & palliative care settings.
- Proven track record in nursing administration with strong nurse management skills and operational oversight capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, HIPAA regulations, and healthcare compliance standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic management, financial oversight within healthcare settings, and Medicare regulations.
- Strong background in acute care experience along with familiarity with home health and home care services.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams effectively while fostering a positive organizational culture.
- Excellent understanding of physiology and anatomy principles relevant to patient care delivery.
- Management experience that includes overseeing hospital or healthcare facility operations along with regulatory compliance responsibilities.
