What are the responsibilities and job description for the CPPI Itinerant Speech Language Pathologist position at Wareham Public Schools?
Wareham CPPI Program is seeking a strong and diverse applicant for the position of part-timeitinerant Speech Language Pathologist for the school year (including summer).
TheCCC-SLP provides consultation and/or direct therapy services, completes initial assessments,develops and oversees implementation of IEP goals and objectives, and utilizes effectivecurriculum materials and behavior management strategies.
CCC preferred. School-based experience is strongly preferred.Valid licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist from the MA Department of Education andValid licensure by the Board of Registration for Speech Language Pathology and Audiologyare required.
Local travel between programs is required to support students at different schoolbuildings.Please submit a resume, cover letter, copy of professional licensure(s), transcripts, and threecurrent letters of reference via School Spring.
Essential Duties:
- Able to develop and implement developmentally appropriate data data driven, culturallyresponsive instruction and individualized goals and accommodations.
- Able to administer formal and informal assessments and analyze results to create diverse andinteresting lessons, goals, and activities.
- Develops and maintains a culturally diverse, purposeful, respectful, and stimulating treatmentenvironment that is organized and positive in nature and geared towards student interests.
- Demonstrates ongoing professional growth and skills consistent with current research andpractice in education through in services, coursework, evaluations, and online courses.
- Maintains written documentation of all evaluations, speech treatment plans, progress notes,medicaid documentation, and communication with families and outside providers inaccordance with agency guidelines and established timeframes in a professional manner.
- Participates actively, cooperatively, and constructively as a member of a multidisciplinaryitinerant CPPI team.
- As requested or directed, provide training to staff in areas of expertise.
- Complete all expected paperwork in a high quality manner within mandated/requiredtimelines.
- Makes recommendations for, trains staff on the use of, justifies medical necessity in a school based setting, and effectively utilizes any adaptive equipment and/or assistive technology forindividual students.
- Participates in all required collaborative in services as well as those recommended bysupervisors.
- Communicate all significant occurrences to the appropriate supervisor in a respectful andtimely manner.
- Maintains an open, honest, and respectful relationship with parents and others involved withthe students success.
- Expected to read and adhere to all Employee Handbook policies.
