The Field Sales Underwriter (Life Insurance) is responsible for generating new business, evaluating applicant risk, and providing life insurance policies in a field-based environment. This role combines consultative sales with underwriting expertise to deliver tailored coverage solutions while ensuring sound risk selection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new life insurance business through referrals, networking, and leads
- Meet with clients face-to-face to assess financial needs, health history, and coverage goals
- Recommend appropriate life insurance products (term, whole, universal life, etc.)
- Evaluate risk by reviewing medical information, lifestyle factors, and financial profiles
- Collect applications, medical questionnaires, and required documentation
- Maintain and service client relationships, including policy reviews and renewals
- Meet or exceed sales production and profitability targets
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Active Life Insurance License (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in life insurance sales, underwriting, or financial services is preferred
- Ability to interpret medical and financial information
