Job Summary
Seeking a hardworking and dependable Groundman for underground utility construction. This position assists equipment operators and crew members with installation of fiber conduit and cable, job site setup, locating utilities, and general labor duties.
No experience required for the right candidate, but construction experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist with underground fiber installation
- Hand dig around existing utilities
- Load/unload materials and tools
- Keep job site, trucks, equipment and tools clean, organized and in working order
- Follow safety procedures and traffic control requirements
- Perform general labor in outdoor conditions
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required
- Able to walk, bend, kneel, pull and lift for most of the day
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and good attendance
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a crew
- Construction or utility experience preferred but not required
Preferred
- CDL or ability to obtain one
- Fiber optic, telecom, or underground utility experience
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Work Location: On the road
