Overview
A Grading Foreman leads earthwork crews in site development, road building, and mass excavation, ensuring projects are completed safely, to specifications, and on schedule. Key duties include operating heavy equipment, interpreting GPS machine control models, managing daily crew activities, and conducting quality control on cut/fill and compaction. Responsibilities
- Site Supervision: Supervise grading crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators, directing daily tasks.
- Technical Execution: Interpret site plans, grade stakes, and GPS modeling (e.g., Trimble, Topcon) to ensure accuracy.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA and company safety policies, conduct safety meetings, and maintain a safe work zone.
- Production Management: Coordinate equipment needs, material deliveries, and schedule production, including fine grading and base work.
- Reporting: Track daily production, material usage, and report progress to Superintendents.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5 years of heavy civil grading experience (mass earthwork, roadwork) and 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with GPS machine control systems and site plans.
- Leadership: Strong communication, mentoring, and scheduling skills.
- Licensure: Valid driver’s license required, with a Class A CDL preferred. Recommended

Pay: $42.00 - $52.00 per hour
