What We’re Looking For:
Walters-Morgan Construction, Inc. is a General Contractor looking for an Estimator candidate that would like to work in Manhattan, KS. A person familiar with reviewing construction drawings, calculating quantities, and can understand construction phasing and sequencing while working closely with our Estimating Team. We’re looking to add someone to our team that has drive, attention to detail and accuracy in the calculation of concrete, underground pipe installation, and mechanical equipment installation while relying on an understanding of construction means and methods.

Walters-Morgan Construction, Inc. is a general contractor based out of Manhattan, KS that has been in business since 1938. We operate in the water and wastewater industry, providing construction services by building and upgrading water treatment plants primarily between Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.
Our projects typically include the installation and replacement of mechanical equipment such as pumps, piping, clarifier equipment, barscreens, grit removal equipment, heavy civil and concrete construction, miscellaneous sitework, excavations, grading, and more.
General Experience:
- Closely work with vendors, suppliers, clients, owners, safety managers, field personnel, project managers, and all others involved in projects.
- The ability to understand project drawings, section cuts, profiles, details, etc.
- Produce informed estimates within given packages.
- Prepare questions for clarity for accurate estimates.
- Plan logical and sequential project schedules.
- Good communication skills are a must.
- Experience identifying, quantifying, pricing or sequencing concrete forming systems such as hand-set forms, gang forms, round and square structures, foundations, walls, slabs, columns, sidewalks, elevated decks, and more.
- Ability to read, interpret, and communicate the project requirements according to the contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Represent the company in a professional manner.
- Work from the Walters-Morgan Construction, Inc. Headquarters in Manhattan, KS and make PreBid site visits as needed.
