Responsibilities
- Operate lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, excavators, and other grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and fertilizing to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appeal
- Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and pests to maintain healthy landscapes and implement appropriate pest management strategies
- Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of lawns and gardens
- Maintain hardscape features including pathways, patios, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures
- Follow safety protocols rigorously during all outdoor work activities to prevent accidents or injuries
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow plowing or tree trimming as needed to keep properties safe and attractive
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping tools and grounds maintenance equipment
- Experience with landscape maintenance, gardening, and horticulture practices
- Proficiency in operating power tools and hand tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of plant identification, pruning techniques, and plant health management
- Familiarity with pesticide management procedures and safety standards
- Ability to operate irrigation systems and troubleshoot related issues
- Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape installation is a plus
- Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions with a focus on safety protocol adherence
- Ability to operate groundskeeping machinery such as excavators or snow plows when required
- Good communication skills for team collaboration and client interactions
