JOB SUMMARY:

Wallowa Memorial Rehabilitation Therapy Clinic is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA is responsible for administering therapeutic treatments in accordance with individualized patient care plans.

This role plays a key part in helping patients regain strength, mobility and independence, while maintaining a high standard of care and promoting a supportive healing environment.

Responsibilities Include:

• Administering physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
• Assisting patients with therapeutic exercises, functional activities and mobility training
• Monitoring and documenting patient progress and response to treatment
• Communicating effectively with the Physical Therapist and other members of the care team to ensure coordinated care
• Educating patients and families on home exercises and safety strategies
• Ensuring treatment areas and equipment are clean, safe and properly maintained

Physical Therapy Assistant – Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) required
• Current licensure to practice as a PTA in the State of Oregon required
• Current BLS/CPR certification required or ability to attain upon hire
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required
• Strong commitment to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care in a collaborative environment
• Ability to meet the physical and functional requirements outlined in the job description
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screen and reference checks
