Primary Purpose: To provide supervised observation opportunities for individuals enrolled in an approved education preparation program, nursing program, or other professional training program by allowing them to observe district operations, instructional practices, and/or professional duties in a school setting in accordance with district procedures and campus expectations. The observer is not an employee of the district and may not perform duties assigned to district staff or have responsibility for students.

Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a university, college, nursing program, educator preparation program, and/or alternative certification program;
- Must provide verifiable documentation showing observation hours are required for coursework or program completion (e.g., course syllabus, university letter, nursing program letter, or ACP letter for the applicable semester);
- Must provide a current driver's license, student photo ID, or other state/government-issued photo identification;
- Must successfully complete the district's background review process, including required fingerprinting, at the applicant's expense; and
- Must comply with all district confidentiality, safety, and supervision requirements while on district property.
Working Conditions and Expectations
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all students, staff, and campus operations at all times during the observation experience.
- Comply with all district and campus procedures, guidelines, and directions related to observer participation.
- Follow all campus safety and security protocols while on district property.
- Professional dress is required at all times. Campus administration reserves the right to deny access if attire is deemed inappropriate.
- All observation times must be pre-arranged with the campus.
- Cell phone use or use of electronic devices for personal communication or unrelated purposes is prohibited during observation periods.
- Demonstrate respect for the instructional environment and avoid any disruption to teaching and learning.
- Notify the campus in advance if unable to attend or if running late for a scheduled observation.
- Observers may not be alone with students at any time and must remain under direct supervision of assigned district personnel.
- Observation approval is valid for one semester only. Individuals must reapply each semester for continued access.
