Security Technician - Access Control, CCTV & Low Voltage

Job Summary

We are seeking skilled and dependable Security Technicians to support commercial security and low-voltage projects throughout New York. Candidates should have hands-on experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, or maintaining electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, video surveillance, and alarm systems.

Technicians will work alongside project managers, field supervisors, and installation teams on new construction, commercial fit-outs, system upgrades, and ongoing service projects. We are looking for motivated professionals who take pride in their workmanship, follow safety procedures, and can deliver high-quality installations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and troubleshoot access control systems, including card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, and electronic locking hardware.
• Install and configure CCTV cameras, IP cameras, and video surveillance equipment.
• Pull, route, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A.
• Install and connect security panels, alarm devices, motion detectors, and related equipment.
• Mount and install security devices, control panels, power supplies, and associated infrastructure.
• Assist with system commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Read and follow wiring diagrams, blueprints, floor plans, and installation drawings.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, electricians, and other trades on active job sites.
• Maintain accurate labeling, cable management, and installation documentation.
• Follow site-specific safety procedures and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in electronic security, access control, CCTV, or low-voltage installation preferred.
• Familiarity with structured cabling and low-voltage wiring practices.
• Basic understanding of IP-based security systems and network connectivity.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, cable testers, and installation equipment.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow technical installation instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to project sites throughout New York.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with access control platforms such as LenelS2, Software House, Genetec, or Avigilon.
• Experience with CCTV and video management systems.
• Familiarity with intrusion detection and burglar alarm systems.
• Experience with biometric readers, intercoms, and electronic door hardware.
• Knowledge of IP networking, PoE devices, and basic switch configurations.
• Relevant manufacturer training, industry certifications, or applicable New York credentials.
