Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled farm assistant to join our team. We are a 1800 acre grain farm located in NW Howard County. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in farming and large farming equipment. The farm assistant will work closely with the farm manager.
This is a full time position with minimum 40 hours a week during the off season and 60 hours during planting and harvesting.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in daily farming operations such as cultivating, grain cart, tilling, and hauling grain.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, semi's, and other heavy equipment.
- Perform general maintenance on equipment.
- Mowing
- Cleaning of equipment
Requirements
- Large farming equipment experience
- Semi operating experience (non CDL A required)
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to follow directions
- Dependable
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to life 50 pounds
- Ladders and heights will be required
Our shop is heated for the winter and air conditioning for summer. All equipment is 4 years old or less.
