Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and skilled Veterans to join our team as Concrete Preparation and Finish Specialists at Vandenberg SFB on South base at SLC-3. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity for veterans to leverage their construction experience, mechanical knowledge, and work ethic in a dynamic environment. You will be instrumental in preparing and finishing concrete surfaces, ensuring high-quality results on this construction project. This paid position provides a rewarding pathway to apply your skills while contributing to the development of durable Concrete Foundation and slabs.
Duties
- Prepare concrete surfaces by performing tasks such as rebar installation, form setting, and surface leveling.
- Operate power tools, and heavy equipment to facilitate efficient Earthwork , forming, rebar placement, and concrete placement and finishing.
- Execute precise concrete finishing techniques including smoothing, troweling, and sealing to meet project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
- Conduct heavy lifting and material handling safely on construction sites while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members on site to ensure timely completion of project while maintaining high quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven military or construction experience with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of construction blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with Excavation, rebar installation, form carpentry and Concrete Finishing.
- Also, Looking For Concrete Finish experts with finish tools.
- Experience with concrete finishing techniques for high quality results.
- Ability to operate power tools such as saws, drills, and heavy equipment including Bobcats and Excavators.
- Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety procedures and heavy lifting protocols.
- Valid REAL ID driver’s license REQUIRED with heavy equipment operation certification preferred.
- NO FELONIES AND ONLY 2 MISDEMEANORS WITHIN 10 YEARS TO ACCESS BASE
