What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Manager position at Walkin Technologies LLC?
We are currently looking for a Fleet Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and well-rounded construction industry professional capable of managing a team of mechanics, repairs, and oversee a fleet of 300 pieces of equipment. This position assists in troubleshooting equipment problems, assigning jobs to specific mechanics, purchasing parts and equipment, working hand in hand with VP of Operations, and ensuring safe work practices are followed.
** MUST be able to work in Dundee, IL ** Weekends and travel may be required **
Essential Functions.
Executes maintenance plans according to the work schedule.
Analyze maintenance performance and work to improve efficiencies.
Lead a team of hourly mechanics.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Utilizes mechanical expertise to maintain equipment.
Ensures company policies and standards are followed in the execution of daily maintenance activities.
Supervise preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime.
Work in tandem with Dispatch, Superintendents, and employees to communicate when equipment is out of service.
Maintain documentation and identify cost saving ideas.
Use a computerized maintenance management system (B2W, Foundations, and GPS Insight) to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance.
Proficient use of Computer to manage workflow (Gmail, Word, Excel).
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience with diesel mechanic work, specifically heavy-duty trucks, and large construction equipment.
Problem Solving/Analysis.
Time Management.
Strong communication, organizational skills, and people skills.
Implement Safety Initiative.
Must be EXTREMELY organized.
CDL class A.
5 years of experience in Fleet Management
