What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Man position at Walker & Walker Equipment?
Walker and Walker Equipment is looking for a dependable and hardworking Yard Man to join our team. This role is responsible for inspecting and preparing rental units, cleaning and servicing units, keeping the yard organized, supporting the service department as needed, assisting in loading and unloading trucks, and helping customers. This position also helps ensure equipment is staged properly, the yard remains clean and safe, and daily operations run smoothly. The right candidate will be comfortable working outdoors, handling equipment, and staying focused in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, and able to work well with others. Experience with equipment handling, yard operations, or rental equipment is helpful. Mechanical aptitude is a must as the yard man is the front line of preventative and routine maintenance on every unit. Candidates should be able to lift and move equipment safely, follow instructions, pay attention to detail, and provide courteous customer service.
Work Environment
This position involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and being active throughout the day. The role may require standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating around equipment and vehicles.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
