We proudly serve over 150 communities in MA, with our clients coming from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, who struggle with anxiety and trauma. These services are offered through Residential, CBAT, and Intensive Treatment Programs, Special Education Day School, Therapeutic Middle-High School, Out-Patient and In-Home Therapeutic Services.

Walker Therapeutic and Educational Programs seeks a Day Direct Care Supervisor for their Intensive Treatment Residence Program on our Needham campus. Under the guidance of the Director of Intensive Treatment Residence, the Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and providing a therapeutic milieu in the ITR (Intensive Treatment Residence), including managing the daily schedule and ensuring therapeutic recreational programming occurs as well as directly managing the performance of assigned staff, including individual/group supervision and staff evaluations. Successful candidates will have previous supervisory experience working in a similar setting.

Essential Functions For This Position Include

  • In conjunction with the ITR Director, serve as a MAP supervisor and ensure all policy and procedures within the MAP are followed.
  • In collaboration with the Director of ITR and MAP consultant, support the MAP system and ensure program is following state regulations. Communicate with the pharmacy and providers regarding any medication changes and proper paperwork is sent (orders, prescriptions, etc.)
  • In collaboration with ITR Director and ITR clinicians, increase the staff’s understanding of and ability to develop, implement, and evaluate individual behavioral support plans for kids.
  • Work with unit leadership to increase the use of TCI philosophy and language including early intervention and de-escalation techniques in the day-to-day running of the program.
  • In collaboration with unit leadership, identify the strengths and areas of growth for individual staff members and teams of staff. The areas to be evaluated should include individual work with children, group management techniques, understanding of child development, work with families, and teamwork.
  • Attend MDT meetings, Treatment meetings, and school meetings to discuss youth’s progress.
  • Work as a part of a multidisciplinary team to further the emotional, behavioral, and educational development of children in ITR.
  • Serve as the liaison between schools and ITR for transportation, scheduling, and school events.
  • Coordinate transportation for all off-campus trips, visits, and activities during shift.
  • Proactively anticipate scheduling issues and work with ITR Director to ensure they are addressed.
  • Work with Director of ITR to ensure adequate coverage on day shifts.
  • Manage the daytime Activities schedule for ITR when on shift.
  • Adherence to licensing standards within the unit.
  • Responsible for overall appearance of campus (i.e. putting away outdoor toys and supplies).
  • Work with residential supervisory team to identify issues in need of discussion for residential meetings.
  • Assist with communication across shifts (i.e. Residential supervisors, Ain leadership, Res-Ed leadership etc.)
  • Coordinate with other supervisors to meet any needs that arise.
  • Assist Day school and CBAT with crisis intervention as needed.
  • Participate in staff interviewing and hiring process as assigned.
  • Assist with conducting training for staff as assigned.
  • Supervise staff as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Successful candidates will have previous supervisory experience working in a similar setting.
