Product Imaging Specialist

Location: Pacific, MO

Department: Marketing / Product Management

Reports To: Director of Product Management (or Marketing Manager)

Status: Full-Time, Non Exempt

Position Summary

Walker Products is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Product Imaging Specialist to support our Product Management and Marketing teams through the creation, management, and optimization of product imagery and digital assets.

This position is responsible for producing high-quality product photography, editing and maintaining image libraries, supporting catalog development, and ensuring visual assets accurately represent Walker Products across retail customers, distributors, e-commerce platforms, marketing materials, and digital channels. The ideal candidate combines technical photography expertise with strong organizational skills and a passion for creating compelling product content that enhances the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Product Imaging & Photography

  • Capture professional product images for catalogs, websites, e-commerce platforms, packaging, marketing materials, and customer presentations.
  • Set up and operate photography equipment, lighting systems, backdrops, and studio environments to ensure consistent, high-quality imagery.
  • Photograph new product introductions, product updates, prototypes, and special projects.
  • Maintain image quality standards and consistency across all product lines and brands.
  • Create multiple image formats and views to meet customer, retail, and marketplace requirements.

Image Editing & Digital Asset Management

  • Edit, retouch, crop, color-correct, and optimize images using Adobe Creative Suite or similar software.
  • Organize and maintain digital image libraries and product assets.
  • Ensure proper file naming conventions, metadata management, version control, and storage practices.
  • Manage and distribute digital assets to internal teams and external customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of product imagery and supporting visual content.

Product Content & Catalog Support

  • Collaborate with Product Management to develop and maintain product catalogs and supporting materials.
  • Assist with image selection, layout preparation, and visual content for print and digital catalogs.
  • Support the creation of product sheets, brochures, presentations, training materials, and customer-facing documentation.
  • Coordinate image and content requirements for major retail, distribution, and e-commerce customers.
  • Ensure product images align with product specifications and branding standards.

Marketing & Creative Support

  • Provide photography support for company events, employee activities, trade shows, and promotional initiatives.
  • Assist in creating visual content for websites, social media, email marketing campaigns, and advertising materials.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Product Management teams to maintain brand consistency and visual standards.
  • Support video, multimedia, and other content creation projects as needed.

Continuous Improvement

  • Recommend improvements to photography workflows, studio equipment, and digital asset management processes.
  • Stay current on photography techniques, imaging technologies, software, and industry best practices.
  • Assist with special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Photography, Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of professional product photography experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting catalogs, e-commerce platforms, retail product content, or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating product photography and image editing capabilities required.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with DSLR and/or mirrorless camera systems.
  • Experience with studio lighting, light tents, and product photography setups.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and related editing software.
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator preferred.
  • Experience with digital asset management systems is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of image formats, resolution requirements, color management, and file optimization.
  • Basic understanding of product content management and e-commerce image requirements preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office, studio, and manufacturing environments.
  • Frequent use of photography equipment, lighting systems, and computer workstations.
  • Occasional travel for trade shows, events, or off-site photography projects.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move photography equipment and materials up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during photography sessions.
  • Ability to set up, adjust, and transport lighting equipment, backdrops, and photography accessories.

Position Impact

The Product Imaging Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the visual quality, consistency, and accuracy of Walker Products' product content. High-quality product imagery directly supports customer experience, brand perception, catalog development, retail partnerships, e-commerce success, and revenue growth across multiple sales channels.
