What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landman position at Walker Elliott?
A growing, entrepreneurial oil and gas company is seeking a Landman, ideally with a strong Oklahoma background. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Landman looking for broad exposure and the ability to grow alongside the company.
The role will work closely with senior land professionals and provide hands-on experience across acquisitions, leasing, title, due diligence, development activity, and land administration.
Responsibilities
- Perform mineral, leasehold, and title ownership research.
- Review title opinions, leases, assignments, deeds, and curative documents.
- Support A&D due diligence, ownership verification, and acreage calculations.
- Negotiate leases, surface agreements, easements, and other land contracts.
- Assist with Oklahoma Corporation Commission filings and regulatory matters.
- Support drilling and development projects by resolving title and ownership issues.
- Maintain land records and assist with Division Order and land administration functions.
- Coordinate with attorneys, brokers, operators, and internal teams.
Qualifications
- 1 years of oil and gas land experience.
- Strong Oklahoma land and title experience preferred
- Experience with courthouse research and title opinions.
- Knowledge of leases, assignments, deeds, probate, and curative matters.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, small-company environment.
Experience with A&D due diligence, horizontal development, minerals/royalties, Division Orders, or Texas land is a plus.
