Our client is seeking a Land Technician to join their growing team and play a key role supporting land, ownership, and revenue-related functions across a dynamic upstream portfolio.
This position offers broad exposure to Land, Accounting, and Operations while providing a clear path to develop expertise in both Land Administration and Division Order functions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize lease, title, contract, ownership, and land records.
- Review and process leases, assignments, amendments, ratifications, releases, and other land-related documents.
- Track lease obligations, expirations, shut-in payments, rentals, and other critical contractual deadlines.
- Support acquisitions, divestitures, title verification, and due diligence projects.
- Coordinate document filings and retrieval efforts with county courthouses and third-party vendors.
- Prepare ownership reports, acreage summaries, and land-related analyses for internal stakeholders.
- Support drilling, completion, and development projects through accurate record maintenance and data management.
- Assist with ownership maintenance, revenue deck updates, and Division Order-related activities.
- Process ownership changes resulting from deeds, probate documents, assignments, and entity transfers.
- Research and resolve ownership discrepancies while coordinating with landowners, attorneys, operators, and internal teams.
- Assist with title opinion implementation, title curative efforts, and new well ownership setup.
- Partner closely with Land, Accounting, Legal, and Operations teams on ongoing projects and special initiatives.
Requirements
- 2 years of oil and gas industry experience in a Land Technician, Land Administration, or related role.
- Working knowledge of oil and gas leases, contracts, title, ownership, and conveyance documents.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and database management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Division Order administration and ownership analysis.
- Experience reviewing title conveyance documents and ownership records.
- Familiarity with acquisitions, divestitures, and due diligence activities.
- Desire to broaden skillsets across Land Administration, Division Order, and ownership functions.
