Land Analyst/Tech - Upstream Oil & Gas
We're looking for a detail-oriented Land Analyst with strong expertise in land data management, lease analysis, and GIS mapping. This role requires advanced proficiency in ArcGIS and Excel and the ability to interpret and verify land records with precision.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and validate land data using Excel and GIS tools
- Review and summarize lease agreements, including working interest, mineral rights, and overriding royalties
- Map and correlate land schedules with tract and unit shapefiles
- Calculate ownership interests at the well level, factoring in depth severances when applicable
- Assess division orders and prepare detailed well-level schedules
- Work closely with internal teams to reconcile tract schedules and ensure data consistency
Qualifications:
- Background in land management within upstream oil & gas, private equity, investment banking, advisory firms, or third-party auditing
- Advanced skills in ArcGIS (ArcMap, etc.) and Excel
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
- Familiarity with PowerPoint for presentations and reporting
