What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enterprise Project Manager, Business Transformation position at Walker Elliott?
Enterprise Project Manager, Business Transformation
Our client is a growing organization investing heavily in process improvement, ERP optimization, and AI-driven transformation across the business. They're looking for someone to own cross-functional projects start to finish, working closely with stakeholders, IT, and leadership to set direction, hit deadlines, and roll out solutions that stick across departments.
Responsibilities
- Own enterprise initiatives from kickoff through go-live, keeping delivery on time and tied to what the business needs
- Put together plans, timelines, and resourcing, and keep the documentation trail current as work progresses
- Track dependencies, flag risk early, and manage the paperwork around scope or change requests
- Run recurring touchpoints with stakeholders and leadership, covering status, blockers, and what's next
- Help the BA team decide what to tackle first based on impact and available bandwidth
- Work across Development, Operations, outside vendors, and the business side to keep the BA function moving in sync
- Push for one consistent way of operating by rolling out shared processes and best practices org-wide
- Map out how work flows today, find where it breaks down, and redesign it for less friction
- Flag where teams are maxed out or where handoffs slow things down, and propose fixes
- Play a hands-on role in ERP upgrades and other system rollouts
- Set the rules for how projects get tracked, documented, and repeated successfully next time
- Define the metrics that show whether a project delivered
- Help stand up automation and AI-assisted workflows, including governance around how they're used
- Turn requirements conversations into usable specs, SOPs, and step-by-step playbooks
- Own the people side of change: training, messaging, and getting teams to adopt new ways of working
- Keep leadership in the loop on how things are tracking against budget, timeline, and risk
- Balance several active initiatives at once without letting anyone slip
Requirements
- Comfortable running projects whether the shop leans Agile, Waterfall, or somewhere in between
- Solid track record building out timelines, staffing plans, and project schedules
- Background improving how a business operates, ideally with some Lean exposure
- Strong ERP implementation and related business systems experience
- Has used AI tools to automate workflows or build out prompts for business use cases
- Comfortable presenting to and managing expectations with senior leadership
- Able to turn stakeholder conversations into clear, written requirements
- Familiar with tools like Jira, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or MS Project
- Strong Excel skills and generally sharp across the Microsoft Office suite
- Analytical, organized, and good at solving problems
- Degree in business, systems, engineering, or project-related field is a plus, not a deal breaker
- A decade or so in roles spanning PM work, business analysis, or process/enterprise improvement
- Has led tech or business transformation work that touched multiple departments
- Some background helping standardize processes during or after an ERP rollout
- PMP is a nice-to-have
- Bonus - hands-on with AI-enabled tools in a business setting
